BODY RX: Home Spa Essentials

Be it just before that time of the month, a family life that just won’t slow down or a job that’s got you run down, it’s the perfect time to sneak away and do a little something for yourself called Spa Day at the homestead.

Alone-time really does wonders to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul so pop your ipod speakers on, get those lavender candles lit in the bathroom (because lavender is calming) and use all of the products in this entry to help bring you back to your original fabulous self that everyone knows and loves.

Begin your “me” moment by pouring Ahava Juniper Mineral Bath Salts ($22, ahavaus.com) in your bath water. It restores calm because it contains 21 essential Dead Sea minerals, including magnesium, potassium and calcium, which work to melt away the stresses of life and to provide the relief you need to your tired muscles. The juniper is a clean, fresh scent of white floral extracts that will soothe your senses that leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

To use:
Dissolve 1 cup of salt in warm bath water. Soak for 20 minutes and shower off. Rest for half an hour. Note: if you have a history of high blood pressure or are pregnant, please consult a physician before using.

After you’ve dried off from your soak in the tub, reach for the fresh-smelling and ultra-moisturizing Bodycology Body Cream, Fresh Waters ($5.49, drugstore.com, walmart stores).

Pay your tired and achy feet attention by refreshing them with Freeman’s Liquid Foot Powder, Peppermint & Plum (walmart stores). It’s a unique peppermint oil formula that starts off as a lotion to soften your feet and then turns into a light silky powder to keep them dry, soothed and refreshed throughout the day.

And since you’ve been soaking in a hot bath for a while, your hands are surely dry, so treat them with Hissyfit’s Handy Work ($29, hissyfit.com). Handy Work is a luxuriously moisturizing anti-aging hand cream with SPF 30+ UVA/UVB protection. This advanced formulation is beautifully scented with an uplifting blend of orange and mint essential oils.

Remember, this moment is about you. So indulge.
