Givin' Good Brow

 

Take a page from LeToya Luckett’s book. Givin’ Good Brow shouldn’t be a chore, it should be the norm and all it takes is the right product(s) to get that defined look without looking overdone.

Allow me to introduce Tarte Cosmetics to your makeup bags. I’ve been a fan of anything MAC Cosmetics for years, but I knew it was time for a change. I learned about emphasEYES Brow High-Definition Brow Pencil ($19.50, tartecosmetics.com) after being invited backstage to see the makeup looks before a fashion show during New York Fashion Week last season. I knew that I had to have this product because it’s different from the rest - it’s waterproof. When I finally started using this product I was very happy and feel confident telling you that this product really does work. Some brow products wipe off at the first sign of sweat, but this one stays put. I do have one bone to pick: only two shades are offered (medium and taupe). Tarte should offer a shade in between since I think the medium brown is a little dark for my taste since my brows are a light brown shade. But with that said, I threw caution to the wind and am currently wearing the medium brown. New Year New Attitude I say.   

Another brow item from Tarte’s real estate of “natural” products is the ToolBox Brow Know-How Eyebrow Kit ($18, tartecosmetics.com). This kit is perfect because it contains what you need to create the perfect brow (brow gel, brow pencil, tweezer, brow brush, brow powder, brow wax, and 3 brow stencils, and a mini mirror).

Here are more tips for getting beautiful eyebrows:

Tip 1: Make tweezing less painful by tweezing your eyebrows after taking a shower or by applying a warm compress to them beforehand.   

Tip 2: Don’t press too hard when you use an eyebrow pencil because the finished result will look unnatural.

Tip 3: Don’t have brow gel?Control your unruly eyebrows, hairspray is a great substitute. Just spray onto your brow brush before you groom them.
