TREND WATCH: Subtle Eyes

deborah cox and hue knew it too faced eyeshadow and hue knew it neutral eyeshadow and hue knew it subtle makeup and hue knew it

The dictionary defines the word subtle as “fine or delicate in meaning or intent.” In other words, put the paint brush down and leave the bright colors alone! The summer months call for skin that is clear, healthy and is unencumbered with heavy makeup. Trust me, you’ll grow to appreciate the beautiful woman that you are if you do less and see the real you in the mirror. No more hiding!

Follow these steps to get Deborah’s alluring eye makeup look by using Too Faced Naked Eye Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection ($35, sephora.com) which comes with 9 matte neutrals and soft shimmer eyeshadows and three Get-The-Look cards :

Step 1: Sweep Birthday Suit over the entire eye from the lashes to the brow.

Step 2: Softly press Pillow Talk  onto the eyelid.

Step 3: Blend either Like a Virgin or Lap Dance into the crease and outer lash line.

Step 4: Line the inside of your eye with a nude color eye pencil.

Step 5: Apply a lengthening mascara on your lashes from root to tip with a wand that coats every lash without fail. One of my favorites is L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Explosion Mascara ($7.99, target.com). Read all about it in my entry here:

Tried & True .

For the summer opt for a less is more attitude, and remember, subtle doesn’t have to mean boring.

I love this look! Would you happen to know what lipstick/gloss she's wearing?

I don't know the actual color Deborah's wearing, but a good nude lipstick option is Mac Cosmetics Underplay.
