Lock It Up: It's A Dread Thing

Black women’s hairstyle’s have always been a topic of discussion and big business within our own communities and beyond for many years. To this day, our choice to wear our natural texture makes the powers that be within Corporate America nervous because they wonder if our “self-expression” means that an uprising is on the horizon. It’s insanity I say, but my job isn’t to figure out why folks don’t get it, it’s to explore one of those styles - dread locking and to provide information on how women can make their locks look as lovely as the singers Ledisi and Goapele.
