Surely you have 30 to 60 minutes to let a skin care professional lay their skilled hands on your desperately-seeking-attention face. With your spa piggy bank finally filled to the brim, there’s no excuse. It’s time to settle on one of many rejuvenating facial treatments offered at a spa in your town or at the very spas I visited – Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf Astoria and Milla’s Treatment Boutique – both located in New York City.
Not one to readily seek out a needle or a scalpel for a little lift action? Not to fret. The Micro-Current Lift/Tone Treatment at the Guerlain Spa is the perfect choice because it’s a non-surgical solution to getting a youthful appearance.
What’s the 411 on the Micro-Current Lift/Tone Treatment?
‘Micro-Current’ rejuvenates aging skin cells by penetrating beyond the dermis into multiple layers of the skin and re-energizing them. Light technology is used to relax facial tension, while micro-current LEDs tighten facial contours and diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Lastly, ultrasonic frequencies oxygenate skin from within, which leaves you with a radiant complexion. After one treatment you feel like a queen, but after a series of four to eight consecutive treatments, the wrinkles that once were, are no longer as prominent. The fine lines and uneven skin you once fought to disguise seem to be yesterday’s news.

How Often Should You Have a Facial?
Whether you view facials as a luxury or a necessity, note that having one every six weeks to two months is the norm, because it’s during that time new cells regenerate, so old cells need to be removed and new skin becomes front and center…looking as healthy as ever.
For 60 glorious minutes, I experienced the Classic Organic Facial, which removes impurities with powerful skin-protecting antioxidants. And because each treatment is customized to meet each clients needs, mine helped treat hyperpigmentation issues.
Step 1: Cleanse – Stone Crop Gel Wash followed by Mineral Cleanser. The 1st cleanser is to loosen any dirt and makeup. 2nd is to get you squeaky clean before exfoliation.
Step 2: Exfoliation w/steam – Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant – gentle rice powder based scrub. Lactic Acid once activated w/water. A Paprika Treatment layered w/a Blueberry Detox oxygenated and detoxified my skin.
Step 3: Extraction portion of facial
Step 4: Mask – Stone Crop Mask layered w/the Bright Skin Mask was used to heal, hydrate and lessen hyperpigmentation.
Step 5: Treatment – 2 serums were applied – Couperose C (calming, antioxidant rich) and Stone Crop Serum (healing, hydrating, great to even out the skin)
Step 6: Protect – Coco Latte Tinted Moisturizer w/SPF 25 & Sun Defense Mineral Powder – Cinnamon Bronzer (shade) SPF 30.
