NYFW FW 18 Backstage Beauty: Maybelline For Phillip Plein

“Playing off the bedazzled snowboards and furry boots fit for a “Space Age Barbarella” in Philipp Plein’s FW 2018 collection, Kanako Takase for Maybelline New York devised two dramatic looks made with sparkly “snow bunnies” in mind.”

BACKSTAGE BEAUTY GET THE LOOK.

Face

Kanako blended Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation and Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation for a seamless base, and then countoured beneath cheekbones with the darkest shade from Facestudio Master Bronze Kit. A luminous glow was achieved by mixing Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold (deep skin tones) or Molten Rose Gold (fair skin tones) with Facestudio Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter in Opal and was dusted across the top of cheekbones. For cheeks with a fresh-from-the-cold flush, rose colored blush The City Kits All-in-One Eye & Cheek Palette in Pink Beige.

Eyes

Top lash lines were rimmed with Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black and layered with Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Eyeliner in Sleek Onyx for even more intensity. Kanako then blended the chocolate brown, plum, and lilac shades from the Total Temptation Eyehadow + Highlight Paletette through the crease and along the lower lashes. For models with deep skin tones, she blended the black hue from The City Kits All-in-One Eye & Cheek Palette in Pink Edge with the darkest purple from the The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette and applied  the mix to the same spots.

To create a cut crease, Kanako applied a thin band of Fit Me Concealer through the socket line and set it in place with Facestudio Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Loose Powder. She coated top and bottom lashes with Total Temptation Waterproof Mascara in Very Black for staying power. Brows were filled in and defined with Tattoo Studio Brow Gel.

Lips

Models with lighter skin tones wore SuperStay Matte Ink Un-Nude Liquid Lipstick in Poet. The finishing touch: A bling-y beauty mark of a single Swarovski crystal.
