GET THE NYFW LOOK: Pop Art Eyes
Although New York Fashion Week has just ended, beauty trends like pop art eyes with products from brands Stila, Flower Beauty and Mary Kay Cosmetics lives on, at least for another season. As evidenced by Lupita Nyong’o, bold eye color worn tastefully makes one hell of a statement.
When fading to the background has become more of your norm and time for a change is now, accentuate your eyes, not with black, but with a less-than-shy shade – turquoise used over the upper and lower lash lines for added interest.
For the Trina Turk Spring/Summer 2015 New York Fashion Week presentation, Sarah Lucero, Stila Cosmetics’ Global Director of Creative Artistry, outfitted the models’ eyes with a retractable and waterproof Stila Cosmetics Waterproof Smudge Stick Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise ($20, stilacosmetics.com) that won’t fade and adds serious drama. Inspired by the Los Angeles Flower Mart, the makeup was chosen in a bouquet of colors, “the hues are like the petals of a flower, with a soft finish, but opaque in color,” Sarah says.
