Makeup Q&A: Are Eyelash Extensions Worth The Money?
I’m happy to go down in history as the woman who owns multiple strips of false eyelashes for every occasion, but when offered the opportunity by Polish beauty, Klara Chrzuszcz, owner of Klara Beauty Lab to try eyelash extensions on for size, what other answer would there be, but yes. Only one week later, I was on my back waiting for my short, natural eyelashes to be transformed into lashes to die for.
To Buy or Not To Buy Eyelash Extensions
Q: How much do you charge for eyelash extensions?
A: The full starter set is $350 with colors that range from black, brown, graphite, blondes to reds, blues, even pinks, yellows, glitter and even glitter. Our customers can choose polyester, silk, or mink lashes. A combination of silk, mink and polyester was used on me…a secret recipe made just for me!
A: There is no need for special preparation involved, however there are few things that, if followed – will make the entire experience that much more pleasant and relaxing. Klara is super precise and she takes her time when comes to the art of lashes. Prior the treatment, she consults the client and recommends the type of lashes she will be working with, whatever suits your shape and facial features. Klara designs and beautifies your new look while working with different: thicknesses, curls, colors and shades of lash extensions.
A: You’ll be offered a glass of bubbly to help you relax during the 2-hour long lash application. Your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions. To avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts are removed, so your eyes are comfortable and in a natural and rested state. During the procedure Klara also treats your under eye area with collagen eye-patches that works on puffiness and minimizes dark circles. This is truly a time to sit back and relax. Ringing cell phones will only interrupt your treatment. enjoy the “me” time, and let your lash transformation begin.
A: Maintenance depends on your natural eyelash life-circle (how often your lashes naturally shed) also on your lifestyle and sleeping habits. Most [people] come back for touch ups every two to three weeks at a cost of $150-$200. Some people come back even as often as once a week ($100), and others – once every four weeks ($300-$350).
Things to consider
Clearly, the initial financial output or the maintenance of this type of service isn’t for the financially-challenged. So if you have it, spend it. Just remember a few things: there’s no need to use mascara, don’t get your new eyelashes wet for the first 48 hours, keep a mascara brush in tow, so you can brush your new “pets” as there will be a wayward hair or two, and keep a bottle eye drops nearby, since your eyes may not take too well to the adhesion glue and may turn red. My eyes were red for three days.
Overall, I was thrilled with the outcome, but hoped that my eyelashes had stayed for longer than one month.
