Spring Checklist: New Spring Beauty Products You Must Get

Aaaahhh! Spring is here and who better to usher in the latest in the newest beauty product offerings than Ms. Laila Ali?

With thousands of products to choose from, it wasn’t hard starting the season off with these three picks:

Get the complexion you’ve always wanted with VMV Hypoallergenics Spring Fresh Oil-Free Nourisher (for Oily Skin) SPF 15 ($27, vmvhypoallergenics.com). As an oily skin chick myself, I had to test the claims on this product so I used this product for three weeks. I was tentative as expected because after all it is my face I’m messing with it. You’ll be happy to know that my experiment was victorious. This Natural moisturizer doesn’t clog pores, it doesn’t add more shine to your face, your skin will remain hydrated throughout the day and it’s got the sunscreen you need to protect your skin from the suns UVA (ultra violet aging) & UVB (ultra violet burning) rays. What a great way to kick-off the season – with skin free and clear of unwanted shine!

My Superstar Pick of the Week, however, is Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder ($28, suedevittstudio.com). This treatment product (which is made with Vitamin C that helps to combat the early signs of aging, and many other ingredients that soothe and heal your skin) got my attention because besides treating your skin, this powder (which is good for all skin types) without question gives a silky smooth finish. The best part is that you can apply touch-ups throughout the day without it ever looking cakey. I’m sold – just look in my makeup bag.

Tip (from Sue Devitt): Instead of using a sweeping motion to dust powder, apply using a pressing motion to pat powder into the skin with your powder brush. And if you don’t have one, just pay $1 for e.l.f. Total Face Brush ($1, eyeslipsface.com).

Your nails need love too, so deck them out in the sweet, feminine and innocent palette of Maybelline’s “Limited Edition” Express Finish Nail Colors ($4.25, in stores now). I think these colors  are absolutely delightful and get me in the mood for a sweet treat. Anyone in the mood for a Popsicle?

Hue Knew It? I did.
