Give Your Man Clean Skin With 3 Men’s Facial Cleansers

Give your man clean, fresh skin with three men’s facial cleansers from Zirh, Pevonia Botanica, and June Jacobs for Men.

We all know at least one man who thinks that a bar of soap meant to wash away the day’s collection of debris from their bodies should also be used on their precious faces. It’s time to get these very men on board with what we women know – a facial cleanser is the order of the day and beyond.

HKI asked a special group of men to share their thoughts on the products in this entry. It came as a complete surprise at how vocal ‘D,’ a tall, distinguished man of Italian descent with more than salt than pepper hair was about his likes and dislikes, but it should’ve been no surprise given his creative line of work – a package designer in his previous life. ‘D’ tested Zirh Mild Face Wash ($15, zirh.com) – a non-abrasive, fragrance-free mild foaming cleanser product created with chamomile lavender to remove dirt and excess oil. This is the perfect product for a man who doesn’t want a ton of lather and is gentle on their skin, but not ‘D.’ He thought…

“[It] feels almost like water and gave me the impression that I wasn’t using enough- even when applying more. [I was] disappointed with the lather effect once applied to face- felt the same as using a bar of soap. [I do] like the packaging and the size of the tube.”

A man of few words, my building doorman Dwight chimed in on Pevonia Botanica Aqua Gel Foaming Cleanser ($36, pevonia.com) – his comment, “it smelled good,” but more importantly, his wife loved the scent. This cleanser is far different from Zirh’s product because it foams which doesn’t mean it cleans any better. This cleanser also is meant to hydrate a man’s skin while it’s masculine, yet natural scent pleasures the senses – great for athletes to use after workouts. I may need to rethink Dwight’s employment application for product tester because three words just ain’t gonna cut it!

Lastly, my trusty computer wizard Nick and a metrosexual on the down low jumped at the chance to lend his opinion on June Jacobs for Men 3 in 1 Cleanser ($30, junejacobs.com), but first what is it? It’s a cleanser that’s free of parabens that eliminates dirt from the face, body and hair. Some of the ingredients includes vitamins A & C and blend of antioxidants – red, white, green tea and pomegranate extracts along with much more to fight free radicals and combats visible signs of premature aging. Nick thought…

…”It has a really nice aroma and the directions where very easy to follow. [My] skin feels more vibrant and refreshed and less oily. [I’m going] to stop using the one and will switch to this one.”Congrats June Jacobs, you’ve got a convert in Nick!

So who is “Your Man?” Your Man is your boyfriend. Your Man is your husband. Your Man is a male relative. Your Man is a male friend who you think would benefit from learning a little somethin’ about grooming best practices. #yourman
