Emerald is the Pantone Color of the Year 2013

Emerald is the Pantone Color of the Year 2013! After two days at a hush hush location somewhere in Europe last year, members of various color standards groups from varying nations debated, voted and debated again which Pantone color would represent 2013. View how Pantone forecasted emerald as the Pantone Color of the Year 2013.

Don’t be a spectator. Experience the beauty of Emerald if not through your fashions, then through these makeup, skin care and body care products:

The Body Shop introduces The NEW Absinthe Purifying Hand Care Collection – a botanical collection infused with absinthe extract, also called the wormwood and named for the shrub from which it is distilled and is known for turning alcoholic beverages into an emerald color and taste. Every product within the collection costs less than $20 which includes a hand butter, hand cream, purifying hand gel and hand wash. I think you might like how this smells ladies!

Merle Norman Cosmetics’ vision of green comes in the form of the Color Max Shadow in Aqua Sparkle ($12, merlenorman.com), a shimmer festive shade with enough duo-chromatic pigments to give you bold color in a single swipe. This eyeshadow is also a pearlized powder which helps to create multi-dimensional effects with a satiny-smooth finish. Be on trend with attention-getting nail lacquers from Duri Cosmetics ($7-$14, duri.com) with two shades of Emerald nail polish – Oscar Party & Paparazzi ($6)

The way something is packaged can make the difference between a consumer buying it versus it being left on the store shelf. While the Revive Glycolic Renewal Peel Professional System ($295, bergdorfgoodman.com) fashion-conscious green jar isn’t a “write home to mama” container, the contents of this skin care treatment system are. ‘Renewal’ penetrates the surface of the skin as it promotes even-toned, brighter and smooth-looking skin. The included cleansing pads clean away all dirt and removes layers of dead skin cells.  Available April 2013.
