Unlock ‘Quantico’s’ Priyanka Chopra’s Secret To Luscious Locks
Cheap vs Expensive Flat Irons
Once a Bollywood actress and now a tinsel town star, Priyanka Chopra knows a thing or two about using flat irons to create shiny, frizz-free, lust-worthy hair styles. So now the question is, do we go the cheap or expensive route when deciding what flat irons to use to get the same enviable results? To clear up any confusion, we dug deep to find out if Pro Beauty Tools, Your Theorie, or Panasonic had the chops to win this battle.
Under $50
Only after witnessing celebrity hairstylist, Johnny Lavoy whip up some hair styling magic with different inexpensively-priced Pro Beauty Tools, did I start to question the validity of paying more than $50, ever, for a hair tool. The Pro Beauty Tools 1″ Professional Ceramic Shine Digital Straightener ($39.99, target.com) is the ultimate gift for the girls who covet perfect, frizz-free, shiny straight hair , but doesn’t have Johnny Lavoy money to pay. In addition to enhancing your hair’s natural moisture and reducing split ends, this flat iron heats up in as little as 30 seconds, has an easy lock system for quick storage, and can straighten the thickest of hair as the high heat is 450F.
Just Over $100
Creeping up the flat irons price ladder is the Panasonic EH-HS95-K Nanoe Flat Iron ($129.99), which also infuses your hair with moisture and shuts off after about a minute, much like it’s much cheaper $40 counterpart. But, what ups the ante for this flat iron design are the five heat settings that work for all hair types and styles. Also, the Nanoe circulating system is something to be impressed by…it takes moisture from the air and infuses it into hair while passing through ceramic plates. Whoa.
Under $200
For good reason, the professional salon series SAGA II Flat Iron ($185, yourtheorie.com) tops the flat irons price ladder. Its sleek titanium rounded floating plates allow for flexible, snag-free styling and ultra-superior brilliance. In addition, to accommodate your on-the-go lifestyle, the SAGA II comes with a beautiful, chocolate brown leather-like, heat-resistant travel sleeve – my favorite benefit. And, like the others, it heats up fast and gets up to 450°F (232°C) to accommodate your not-so-patient self, with only one pass straightening doing the job every time, so you spend less time waiting and more time creating. You can also program the auto shut off function.
The Winner Is…
All three won for different reasons. Pro Beauty Tools is kinder on the pocketbook, gives you pro-level results and doesn’t blind you with bells and whistles. The Panasonic Nano recycling air technology that infuses moisture into your hair is out of control! My personal choice is the SAGA because of the pretty travel sleeve, but also because of the almost-guaranteed one-pass promise, which, by the way is so true…I know.
