Skin Problems Solved #4: 4 Must-Use Products To Help Repair Dry Skin

Alas, we’ve reached the end of my series on specific skin care issues – dry skin, i.e. dehydrated skin, which is characterized by small pores and flakiness – a direct result of there not being enough oil secretion. Other variables like your diet and medication can play into why your skin is dry, in which case I would suggest you seeing a dermatologist for a more aggressive treatment. If you’re merely suffering from a seasonal change, then a  Natural Moisturizer  or an over the counter dry skin lotion solution may be just what you need to ease your dry skin pain.

If all you need is a burst of moisture, then the certified organic Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist ($22, juicebeauty.com) is a product you might like. It balances and tones your skin while keeping your skin feeling hydrated for up to 3 hours. With ingredients like aloe vera and grapseed oil, you will soon enjoy the benefits of a radiant complexion – at least for a few hours that is.

We all want a soft complexion, but Alba Sea Lettuce Cleansing Milk ($9.99, cvs.com) is designed specifically for dry, delicate skin. This soap-free cleanser contains aloe vera and jojoba which infuses your face with moisture without stripping away necessary oil. My advice: wash your face with this product once in the morning and once in the evening to get the best results.

Unfortunately, a by-product of having dry skin are fine lines and wrinkles and to combat those you need to have hydrated skin. I’ve written about Cosmedicine in the past for good reason – they have products that work. Cosmedicine Hydra Healer ($75, sephora.com) provides your skin with intense hydration. In fact, I love how this product is billed on their website – “the no BS hydrating moisture cream.” I heard that. What I also appreciate about this line is their website. If you have any questions about any ingredient that is used in their products, you can promptly look at the ingredient glossary to get answers. This line goes out of it’s away to keep it’s customers informed.

Face Oasis Ultra Hydrator by H20 ($40, ulta.com) gives your dry, dull complexion that surge of moisture it so desperately needs. What makes this product different is that it’s an oil-free, water-infused gel filled with antioxidants to protect your skin from the environment and dehydration.

Tip:  Paraffin wax mask anyone? These are ideal for people with dry skin since they promote the penetration of ingredients deep into the skin. You come away from these treatments with soft and radiant skin.
